ThermalWise was contracted by NSCC to diagnostic water infiltration testing of installed storefront glazing products located in the NSCC Ivany Testing Centre. Testing, conducted in accordance with AAMA 501.2, was carried out on the test specimen located on the building’s south elevation.  

AAMA 501.2 testing is intended to provide quality assurance and diagnostic field water penetration checks for installed storefronts, curtain walls and sloped glazing systems. The field check procedure is intended to evaluate joints, gaskets and sealant details in the glazing which are designed to be permanently closed and watertight. 

ThermalWise was contracted by NSCC to complete a thermal imaging investigation of the newly constructed NSCC Sydney Waterfront Campus in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The campus is comprised of four interconnected buildings (Blocks A, B, C & D). ThermalWise conducted scans of the buildings while pressurizing and depressurising the buildings, to investigate for areas of potential air leakage and thermal bridging in the building envelope.

ThermalWise was contracted by Tri-Tech Pinnacle Group to conduct quality assurance testing of installed glazing products at the Ecole Wedgeport project.  Water penetration testing, conducted in accordance with ASTM E-1105, was carried out on five sections of curtain wall. 

ThermalWise performed whole-building air leakage testing at the New Fredericton Northside East Elementary School. The purpose of this testing was to determine the building’s air leakage rate.  Testing was performed in general conformance with ASTM E-3158 using the multi-point procedure. The building was prepared in such a manner to test the building envelope per the standard.

ThermalWise was contracted by Century Exteriors Inc. to conduct a whole building air leakage test (WBALT) at the RCMP detachment in Marystown, Newfoundland & Labrador. The purpose of the testing was to determine the whole building operational air tightness.

ThermalWise performed whole-building air leakage testing for the building located at 409 Wilkinson Avenue, Dartmouth, NS. The building was tested to determine the building’s envelope air leakage performance. Testing was performed in general conformance with ASTM E-3158 using the multi-point procedure. The building was prepared in such a manner to test the building envelope per the standard.

ThermalWise was contracted by MCA Consultants to conduct compartmentalization air leakage testing on the Acadia University Archives section of the Vaughan Memorial Library at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The purpose of the testing was to quantify air leakage of this enclosed area and to identify pathways of air leakage.

ThermalWise performed whole-building air leakage testing for the Summerside Community Health Centre located in Summerside, PE. The building was tested to determine the building’s envelope air leakage performance. Testing was performed in general conformance with ASTM E-3158 using the multi-point procedure. The building was prepared in such a manner to test the building envelope per the standard.

ThermalWise performed whole-building air leakage testing for NSCC Akerley Student Housing Building located on the NSCC Akerley Campus in Dartmouth, NS. The building was tested to determine the building’s envelope air leakage performance. Testing was performed in general conformance with ASTM E-3158 using the multi-point procedure. The building was prepared in such a manner to test the building envelope per the standard.

ThermalWise was contracted by Maxim Construction to conduct quality assurance testing of installed glazing products at the Saint John PO project in Saint John, NB. Testing, conducted in accordance with AAMA 501.2 and ASTM E1105, was carried out in July, August and September of 2023.

ThermalWise performed whole-building air leakage testing and air leakage detection at the Sherwood Elementary School Project, located in Charlottetown, PEI. The building was tested to determine the building’s envelope air leakage performance. Testing was performed in general conformance with ASTM E-3158 using the multi-point procedure. The building was prepared in such a manner to test the building envelope per the standard.

The thermal imaging scan was completed primarily from the exterior of the building with additional investigations completed from the interior, where corresponding potential exterior anomalies were noted.

An energy audit was conducted by ThermalWise in 2017 on the Armour Transportation Services Inc. Main Office and Warehouse located in Moncton, NB. The energy audit included energy consumption analysis, onsite data collection, interviews and building energy simulation modeling. The goal of the audit was to identify cost effective energy efficiency measures (EEMs) that met the client’s requirements.
