CMHC MLI SELECT

The CMHC MLI Select program offers unique incentives for real estate investors, builders and developers through a points based system. Points are given for reaching targets regarding affordability, accessibility and energy efficiency. By reaching benchmarks in one, two or all three categories you can reduce your premiums and access longer amortization periods all while creating better buildings.

ThermalWise is a CMHC MLI Select recognized third-party offering certifications and energy modelling services. Our qualified energy advisors conduct testing and provide reports to prove your commitment to energy efficiency. These reports help you access opportunities through the MLI Select program. The more committed you are the better the incentives.

THE BENEFITS

The MLI Select Incentives include these, among others

CMHC MLI Select offers access to competitive mortgage insurance rates to eligible applicants. These rates can potentially reduce the overall borrowing costs.
Buildings that acquire the minimum 50 points can obtain 40 year amortization periods with a max of 50 year period for those reaching 100 points.
New and existing residential properties can obtain a 95% loan to cost ratio.
Making the necessary upgrades to your building will also lead to a reduction in operational costs.

Efficiency Consultant

ThermalWise is able to remain on board as an ongoing consultant for builders/developers/trades to provide training on Energuide Reports, energy efficiency, air sealing as well as perform pre-drywall testing, thermal imaging and more.

MLI Select Energy Audit

Our certified energy advisors assess your building’s energy performance and compile our recommendations to help you meet your goals for energy efficiency. We look towards increasing insulation, airtightness and installing better mechanical systems to achieve targets set out by CMHC.

MLI Select Certified Reports

We present the improvements you’ve made to your building’s energy performance through reports that are critical to your MLI Select application. These reports are needed for lenders and give you the ability to access better financing terms. These reports include initial and final Energuide reports and MLI Select Attestation form to submit with your application.
